Once upon a time, I longed for a sandwich press. I L-O-V-E hot sandwiches and a grilled panini is pretty much my favorite thing to put alongside a bowl of soup. I thought I could only have this love of mine at a restaurant. Well, no more. Let me tell you about a little appliance to make its way into my kitchen.
The Cuisinart 5-in-1 Electric Griddler is pretty awesome. Once upon a time, when I lived in an apartment in Washington, D.C., I would have given a lot to have this baby. Here’s the highlights:

- Great timer function (useful when grilling)
- Perfect indoor grill for winter cooking
- Top half opens and lays flat to double griddle and grill space
- Replaces other appliances in my kitchen
So yes, this is a sandwich press. But it’s so much more than just that. If you open the top half and lay it flat, it can be used as a griddle or grill. Or flip one of the grill plates and have half of it grill and half griddle. Pancakes and sausage, anyone? When you’re done, you can take the grill plates off and stick them in the dishwasher.
With this in my kitchen arsenal, I don’t need an indoor grill pan, or a standard griddle. It eliminates other appliances and saves me space in my cabinets. In my book, that’s a win-win!
We have used this almost every day since it arrived into our lives. Quesadillas for lunch have become a staple. Grilled cheese is super quick and easy. One pan, one appliance, meal is made. I highly recommend the Cuisinart 5-in-1 Electric Griddler!
